The Balding Hippies: We Used to Laugh in Front of Buildings

the balding hippies

This is the first song to carry "The Balding Hippies" label. In this song the predictable meets the inevitable in a funny and scary clash. It has been recorded in 2007, this is refreshed and slightly remixed version of that recording.

lyrics:

Who wants to get inside?

The library is a funny place
Everybody wants to get inside
(The library, who wants to get inside?)

Who are those men in the front of the library?
And what are they laughing at?
(Who are those men? Do they want to get inside?)

The funeral home is a sad place
Nobody wants a lawyer involved
(The funeral home, who wants to get inside?)

Who are those men in the front of the funeral home?
And what are they laughing at?
(Who are those men? Do they want to get inside?)

Mumblin' Y. Plumber - Leprechaun

For a change, I post an old record I found in the attic. It is a 7" vinyl in a mediocre condition with no sleeve. On the label there is a note: Leprechaun. Personnel: Mumblin' Y. Plumber, Deaf E.R. Flatberg & Blind I. Buczynsky. It is a sort of spooky folk song, I quite like it and I thought it is worth sharing.

lyrics (written down by ear):

A leprechaun is living on the orange tree,
He has mean eyes and they scare the shit out of me.
If you see an orange leprechaun,
You better run, you better run,
Oh, brother, you bet you better run.

A leprechaun is dinning in my TV set,
It shows the bones of people that he killed and ate.
If on screen you see a leprechaun,
You better run, you better run,
Oh, brother, you bet you better run.

A leprechaun is snoring in a water bed,
This sound is awful and it fills my ears with dread.
If you hear a snoring leprechaun,
You better run, you better run,
Oh, brother, you bet you better run.

Looney Buns: Hippie Hippie Manic Pulse

This song is about musical trance quality of everyday life. It is composed of several incompatible elements glued together by irresistible force.

This song is now a part of the album.
Get it here.

lyrics:

Hipsters in bright shiny suits,
Riding in a white Mercedes Benz
Drugsters in black BMW,
Shaking their heads in a lunatic trance

In a hippie hippie manic pulse

Silicon girls from glamour catalog,
Aping giraffes on a catwalk
Smokers in the nicotine fog,
Glimmering fireflies in a flock of clouds

In a hippie hippie manic pulse

Dancers fighting laser beam,
Searching for the floor in a cloud of dust
Drinkers running out of steam,
Struggling to break through the shapeless mass

In a hippie hippie manic pulse

Zombies in the morning light,
Looking for a bed in a deadly heat
Street-cars of fainting desires,
Hunting for shades with bare, empty seats

In a hippie hippie manic pulse

Looney Buns: Ponds of Cheese

poker ace

Ponds of cheese are where the raging saws and bored horns meet causing mind blending tremors. Here's another cut of twisted electronic dance music infused with urban folk and tribal exotic aura.

This song is now a part of the album.
Get it here.

lyrics:

Tell me what's the forecast
What is there before us
Gazing out from nothingness which hides behind the door

Let me see the big screen
Shining when the lights dim
Let me look at curiosities I have never seen

Talking on the phone you are
Fishing in a fondue pot
Talking 'bout the things that please
us by ponds of cheese

Surfing the magnificent ponds of cheese...

What is on the menu
Can you find a brand new
Kind of Camembert that you could nibble with a friend

Tell me what the score is
Racing for a cheap kiss
Playing out those silly games we take too seriously

Surfing the magnificent ponds of cheese...
